Medea stations Retrograde @ 0°34° Taurus Partile Chiron: Releasing Steadfast Patterns for Spiritual Growth

Correct: In an earlier post I referenced Medea stationing in Aries to join the backdraft of retrogrades. Obviously, that was in error. Medea will be crossing back into Aries September 4th, joining four celestial planets and asteroids in a retrograde parade. Chiron retrograde will also be crossing back over into Aries mid-September, bringing the number of Aries’ cosmic retrogrades to six. 

I’m unsure about the significance of that, but every celestial body in Aries (that I have a relationship with) will be in retrograde at the same time. For as long as I’ve studied astrology, I don’t ever remember having a cosmic situation like this. 

I tagged the goddess queen (imho) Leah Whitehorse, the astrologer who introduced me to the goddesses, for her opinion on this. Is it rare to have so many celestial objects retrograde in a given sign at once?  I'll keep you posted.

I’m not sure if I would be as curious if this were not happening in Aries, but Aries represents the beginning of all new ventures and the divine masculine. So many goddesses, representing the Divine Feminine, Chiron representing healing, and then Saturn and Neptune representing limitations and the dissolution of boundaries just feels like something global beginning to shift. 

Has humanity reached its limit? Are we headed for a reset?

Venus opposite Pallas Athene & Lilith trine Vesta: Untangling Expectations of Conformity

Early morning, Venus in Libra opposite Pallas Athena Rx in Aries offers an opportunity to reconcile a stressful polarity regarding our professional obligations that may be strangling our personal relationships. 

Workaholism produces alienation from those we care about. Alienation can result in insecurity, doubts, and withdrawal from intimacy altogether. We may even become frigid. 

Balancing our need to fulfill work responsibilities with our intimate relationships through honest communication loosens the tension. 

If we expect our partners to weather the time we desire to extend toward our obligations, then we in turn should not only give the promise of time but fulfill that promise. 

This evening, Lilith in Sagittarius trine Vesta Rx in Aries. This is a very cooperative aspect conjoining Lilith's rebellious independence and sexuality with Vesta's commitment and devotion to the home. 

These two positively conjoining can indicate liberating passion and freedom of sexual expression.

Early this evening, Jupiter in Leo trine Saturn Rx in Aries 13°41’: Avoid a Compulsion to do Nothing just because there's a Lack of Tension. 

Thirteen is a critical degree of Cardinal Aries, representing Mars and symbolizes an emphasis on personal expression and taking action toward goals. The Great Benefic, Jupiter enhances this energy, creating a perfect atmosphere to pursue or draft plans to obtain what we truly want. 

Jupiter in the 7th house of Libra represents relation/partnerships & public relations. We may strive for balance with the help of family, friends, and/or business associates. 

Saturn retrograde in the 2nd house of Taurus, the focus could be on re-evaluating our earning ability regarding finances and/or possessions. It could also pertain to resources regarding food and personal safety. 

Thirteen is also the number for the Goddess. Both houses of Libra and Taurus, ruled by Venus, are active in today’s aspects, adding a touch of divine feminine soft yet a firm resoluteness to our actions.

Mars square Saturn; Mercury inc Saturn sextile Mars: Alchemy is an Art Form waiting for an Artist 🎨 

When I was young, I used to view stumbling blocks as an enemy to be conquered; Sun con Mars in Scorpio, what else to expect. . .

However, as time passed, I realized those blocks existed to get my attention because I had missed something pertinent or was walking into a situation that would prove detrimental. 

As I matured, I learned to transform stumbling blocks into steppingstones, and realized it was a manifesting form of art; Sun con Neptune in Scorpio, spiritual growth. . .that's what else.

Today, you’ll have that opportunity.  

Saturn Rx in Aries is very active, beginning with a square to Mars in Cancer followed by an inc to Mercury in Virgo. 

Mars is ready to explore the avenues of achievement; however, may act impulsively without consideration of consequence. Saturn retrograde. . .not so much. 

Saturn's limitations exist for our benefit, and with patience we come to recognize and understand the red flags alerting us to detours that prevent falling off a cliff. Pay attention to the fine print and play chess with decisions: stay two steps ahead of potential risks. 

An adjustment of perspective, attitude, or compromise may be achieved through a form of communication when Saturn meets Mercury. The 7th and 11th in these aspects indicates partnerships or group efforts. Great strides are achieved through collaboration and clear communication.

Midmorning, Mercury in Virgo sextile Mars in Cancer, fueling an abundant energy and mental focus. Disputes can be amicably solved through communication if we don’t become defensive.

The axiom of the Void-of-Course (VC) Moon is that “Nothing will come of this,” unless. . .its placement is in the signs of the Moon and Jupiter?  

There’s a validated claim (through personal experience) that when the Moon is VC in Taurus (Moon's exaltation), Cancer Moon's domicile & Jupiter's exaltation), Sagittarius (Jupiter's fiery domicile), and Pisces (Jupiter's watery domicile). Purportedly, the VC Moon will “performeth somewhat,” when in these signs,  according to seventeenth-century astrologer, William Lilly. 

Astrologers like Lee Lehman and Jim Shawvan also claim to have “taken this to the bank many times.” 

While novice astrologers like me have discovered the opposite through personal experience. 

Okay that’s not totally accurate. I have only experienced the VC in Taurus; however, once bitten twice shy, and I certainly didn’t feel the need to continue “experiencing” after the first experiment cost so much time and money without a yield.

What I did.

To test the VC theory, because astrology isn’t learning its experiencing, I opted to plant my annual flower garden during a VC in Taurus last spring. I specifically chose Taurus because it’s associated with the Earth and considered a very fertile sign favorable for planting.

Last Quarter OOB N’ Moon in Gemini occurs early Friday morning @ 3:51 AM, EDT, 11th House: Release, Reflect, Receive 

The OOB North position of the Moon indicates the urge to outwardly act rather than inwardly reflect. Recognition creates the needed awareness to resist this impulse. 

We give a lot of credence to the New and Full Moon phases; however, these two phases are not the only ones which affect us. The first and last quarter square phases are empirically important, determining whether or not we stay the course.

There are many cultural attributes to this phase (refer to poster), all reflecting a pattern of release, reflection, and receiving rather than charging forward. 

These suggestions and my personal experience define such practices as energetic conservation. 

Or reallocating our energy to receiving guidance rather than getting lost in everyday chatter. 

This will not be easy when an OOB N’ Moon is in Gemini. There’s an undertow of restlessness associated with this lunar phase. 

Being still will require discipline, particularly if you have strong mutable aspects that can be easily influenced by outside forces. 

Recommendation: Running a biwheel to see where this lunation falls in your birth chart can provide clues to navigate this cycle.

Last week I posted about Medea stationing retrograde in Taurus. 

That post will acclimate you on the mythology, vilification, and themes of Medea. I want to focus on her re-entering Aries as part of a retrograde backfire that’s been building for months. 

Medea re-enters Aries @ 11:10 AM, EDT this morning via the 6th House. This is the natural home of Virgo, currently hosting its Mercurial overlord and the Sun’s transit. This realm links productivity, work quality, and health together.   

Medea is known in most stories as a sorceress who is accomplished in medical magic. She is depicted by some as a high priestess of the goddess Hecate. 

According to Athenian philosophy, she is depicted as having great intelligence and skill, traits typically viewed as masculine by Euripides's original audience.

Early evening, the Sun in Virgo inc Saturn Rx in Aries in the 7th & 2nd houses. An inc (inconjunct) is a major aspect indicating that balance requires an adjustment. These signs are totally unrelated, sharing neither quality, element, nor are both active or passive. 

This occurs on the thirteenth degree, attributed to Aries as an expression of personal goals and acting to manifest. The Degree Theory was invented by astrologer Nikola Stojanovic and is endorsed by astrologers such as Emily Ridout, an astrologer and yoga teacher who founded Astroyoga.

Hill’s Sabian Symbol for Aries 13° sheds additional insight and confirms the above:

We are more apt to think and act negatively when insecure, regardless of the situation. This aspect requires not just honest communication but receiving with an open heart, non-defensively. It also compels us to honestly evaluate our own emotions, fears, doubts, and insecurities to see if our past could be contributing to the discord.

If so, how can we adjust our perception and/or actions? Are we relying on someone else to change and carry the burden of our happiness.
